Homework in kindergarten is intended to correlate as directly as possible to the learning we are engaged in together at school and is an opportunity for families to encourage learning outside of the classroom.
As your child develops into an amazing little reader, we encourage fostering the excitement by providing as many opportunities as possible to read books at their level. Your child will be bringing home books often to read to a parent, sibling, friend and/or stuffed animal :)
Resources for homework, prompts for when your reader gets "stuck", and a book at the current instructional level of your child will come home in their book bag.
As we establish routines at school that promote accountability, collaboration and responsibility it is an ideal time to develop routines at home to encourage age appropriate responsibility as well.
